Patricia Player Maxwell
Founder and Owner

Patricia obtained her nursing certificate, (the UK equivalent of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing) at Addenbrooke Hospital, a Cambridge University-affiliated research institution in England. She completed her graduate level independent practitioner training as a Certified Midwife (equivalent of a Nurse Practitioner) at Peterborough Hospital in Cambridgeshire, England.
Since arriving in the USA, Patricia has worked in business development and public relations for a large Medical Clinic, developing extensive knowledge of medical insurances and care facilities in the greater Bay Area. Patricia then worked with a Private Duty homecare firm providing caregivers, making assessments, plans of care, and gathering a large spectrum of senior centered resources. It was while working in the homecare industry that Patricia was encouraged and motivated in looking at the Senior Manager arena, knowing the ever increasing need for Senior Care Managers and the dearth of care managers with medical knowledge or those with any nursing background. Patricia has also cared for her own father, having him live at home with her and her daughter, and giving her insight, knowledge, and understanding of the needs and concerns of many families.
Patricia is very serious about promoting living life to its fullest for all her clients. Being an older adult does not mean time to sit and vegetate. She is motivated to give her clients the opportunity to get out and about as much as they wish and are capable of, whether to visit friends, dine out, play bridge, go to the ballet, or enjoy other activities. While growing her practice, Patricia worked part time with an MD Geriatrician as her office manager. This experience has provided Patricia with a broad, current knowledge of the use and abuse of medications in the treatment of dementia, as well as how to effectively deal with issues of aging.
Patricia provides consultations to families and individuals, helping them make intelligent decisions related to ongoing care. Applying her extensive prior medical and geriatric experience, she is an effective advocate when needed - either in the clinic or hospital arena. She is a sought after speaker to address topics that include “Do's and Don'ts of Hiring Caregivers,” “Signs of Abuse in the Elderly,” and her extensive overseas experience working as a healthcare provider in places such as Saudi Arabia and Iran. This latter experience also provides her a unique perspective and success in working in multicultural settings.
Patricia employs and partners with the highest quality professionals, and highly qualified independent contractors to complement her services, in the best interests the clients she serves. Active in Rotary International, a board member of the Foster City Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers, she practices in both San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.
